There can bei doubt that it was Fethullah Gülen,
or FETÖ, how the network is called in the Turkish media now:
He is a conservative
prayer and religion in Turkey always plays the counterpart to the military
which is secular orientated! In addition he would not have such an influence
within the Turkish military to organize something big like this, which, as
mentioned, would serve his opponents. To me it makes no sense it was him!
Also
it makes not too much sense if it was Erdogan himself, i.e. a conspiracy, to
use it as a pretext in order to clean the Turkish authorities from people who
do not please, i.e. betrayers, as the staged coup easily could have lost
control and got out of his hands!
No, it most likely looks as
if it was really a coup, but orchestrated by the Turkish military, by the top
generals, who, then escaped to Germany or Greece and who had to act as the
Turkish government was already getting rid of all that were undermining the
government.
The coup was orchestrated by the military, would probably have
happened anyway but had to be moved forward; and, due to a lack of proper
preparation, failed.
Still, according to many
average Turkish, it seems to be believed and when it comes to me imaginable
that Gülen by his educational institutions has influence in Africa, America and
Europe as well.
Willy Wimmer on the other
hands claims it was the United States would have also shot the Russian fighter
from air and by the help of an AWAKS clearance jet, coming from Saudi Arabia,
observing that territory and showing US fighters the way.
They, according to
him, were behind the failed coup on July 15 in 2016 too!
Both just to give
Erdogan the clear message that he should not be too close with Russia that by
the Western world, was sanctioned nor should play hard ball against the West.
