Two Ethiopian brothers who
entered my friend s Doner imbiss emphasized that freedom was the cause what
made them escape!
Their government is a dictatorship and it was confirmed that they had to serve 10 years in the military there, even though I was not sure about it in contrast to Eritrea. However, they seem to have been very honest with me, saying they were 19- not minor aged- the trip cost 2000 EUR, they crossed the Mediterranean Sea and, despite all Germans, due to the media say, it was dangerous doing so they told me only to a chance of 0,2 % something lethal happens and it was actually easy. They arrived without any passport- that is why they could not fly- however, were not claiming they were Syrians as many, also black ones, do. There was no necessity to flee as the country is not dangerous, also not for tourists, they had a job, lived in a huge city, which name I have forgotten and even had amenities as women who cooked for them and tidy up the house- things they had to do now alone. They could make a good living there and did not come for the money, which is 380 EUR a month. They do not look for a German wife and furthermore as many want to move on, to the Netherlands for instance where two of their uncles live; however, the German government holds them back.
Other two and nice Ethiopians, normally living in Lichtenfels, which is 30 km north, but being in Bamberg later could not tell me why they had to flee. When asking, i.e. helping, them if it was the military service maybe of 10 years they said yes. When uttering that a war they do not have but a dictator who governs the country, they confirmed both and mentioned that he was worse than Hitler, who was, according to them, nothing in comparison.
